Horizon Health provides mental health and substance use treatment across more than 20 locations in Western New York. The organization offers walk-in appointments and strives to make getting care as simple as possible.
Before implementing Luma, however, getting to care often felt like navigating a maze. Patients bounced between reminder texts, payment requests, forms, and separate websites, while staff pieced together information across multiple systems. First-time patient check-in could take more than 10 minutes.
Today, patients prepare for their visit from a single texted link. Payment estimates, forms, self-service scheduling, and two-way communication all happen before the visit, creating a simpler path to care. As a result, first-time patient check-in has been reduced from more than 10 minutes to about 4 minutes.
“Even better, everything is already in Oracle Health,” said Sarah Just, Corporate Director of Administrative Operations. “Staff can focus on patients instead of paperwork.”
